About Laura

Your companion on this journey

“My purpose is to cultivate world peace, one beautiful soul at a time.” – Laura Kosak

Laura loves supporting fellow human beings in earth school. We are all sparks of light, and sometimes that light is dimmed, tucked away, or, sadly, missing. Laura is a huntress for light and a warrior against fear and smallness. She will fiercely support you throughout your journey with respect, admiration and care.

What do I mean cultivate world peace, isn’t that a lofty goal? “Peace” in English comes from the Latin “pax” which is generally understood to mean “fasten, fix” or a “period of stability.” This is not how I am using the word.

The word for peace in Hebrew is “shalom” which comes from the root word shalem, and means wholeness, completeness, fullness. It has more of the flavor of well-being, tranquility, prosperity, security, and blessed harmony rather than stability. It is this type of shalom that I actively cultivate in my own life and and wish to bring forth in the world. I am sure it is a worthy and achievable goal: to bring more wholeness and harmony to the world, one soul at a time. – With love, Laura

LIFE EXPERIENCE

Laura here. Let’s get real. Yes I have degrees, certifications, and important work expertise. I’ve also lived through a lot of life experiences like yours. Here are a few of the foundational pieces to the puzzle that is me:

I failed third grade.

In 1st grade it was decided that I was extra smart and I was skipped to 3rd. But it didn’t work out, and they held me back to repeat 3rd grade. I battled the demons of “I’m not good enough” and “I’m not smart enough” for many decades. Do you know those demons?

I survived sexual assault.

A few times. I have wrestled with the demons of “it’s not safe to be me” and “no one knows my pain” for what feels like many lifetimes. Do those limiting beliefs sound familiar?

I chose divorce.

I married my college boyfriend. We came from different paths and really were headed in different directions. But that “people pleaser” in me was ruling the roost. I shapeshifted into what worked for him and that left me feeling empty and resentful. I’ll bet the “people pleaser” has been in your house more than once…

Life’s thrown me some curveballs.

I have faced several liminal moments when I have been knocked to my knees and I’ve had to start all over again. Careers that fell apart. Relationships that blew up. Painful losses. Times I just didn’t know who the hell I was supposed to be. Have you ever had one of those days when all you could do was put one foot in front of the other and hope?

I am a Seeker.

I have been drawn toward spirituality since I was a kid. It wasn’t a part of my family culture except as hugging trees (thank you 1970s California!). I followed many paths, found many gods I didn’t believe in, spent time battling them, and emerged from that winding road stronger, joyful, and connected to the Universe, the Holy Blessing One, the Great Mystery, Love, Sparkling Dancing Light, or whatever name it is going by this week.

I am a Mother.

The one sure thing I knew as a child was that I wanted to be a mother. That was another long path that included many challenges and ultimately required a lot of medical interventions and perseverance. And I get to be the mom of two of the most amazing, beautiful humans I know. Parenting is a miraculous, humbling, full contact sport.

I am an Alchemist.

I know how to turn lead into gold, obstacles into opportunities, fear into love. It certainly isn’t easy, but I don’t give up.

As I support you along your journey, I will recognize the demons you face. I will view you and all that you bring forth with curiosity and compassion and not an ounce of judgement. I will hold you with the ferocity of a mama bear. I will help you transform into the person you came here to be. It will be my honor.
